Now under new management the Turf Hotel is a friendly, family run local hotel based in the heart of Richmond, North Yorkshire. With the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and Coast to Coast walks all on our doorstep, we are able to offer comfortable home from home accommodation, and quality home-made meals. We have two bars to relax and unwind in -offering a wide range of beers, ales, lagers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Our restaurant has an extensive menu, and is very reasonably priced – we are also not shy with our portions! For visitors wanting to explore the historic town of Richmond, we are perfectly located right in the centre of Richmond – The Georgian Theatre is right next door, and both the famous Norman castle and banks of the River Swale are within short walking distance. The Turf Hotel has five light and airy modern and tastefully decorated rooms – guests are also provided with a tasty breakfast. Conveniently located for all local attractions and only a stones throw away from the Georgian market square and local bus routes. January 2018 will see the main bar and lounge areas as well as the front aspect of the Hotel undergoing a complete renovation and transformation so we will be closing for a couple of weeks in January/February in order to undertake the works. The Unicorn is a historic pub, that was previously a coach house. It has been in continuous use since at least 1760, and has been known as 'The Unicorn' since the early 19th century. A regular tour guide of Richmond town comes through The Unicorn. The Unicorn is a busy and lively pub, with very friendly staff and locals, we offer a range of different cask ales each week and a wide variety of beverages. Please note, The Unicorn is very busy on weekends and entertains a DJ & Disco on until 1am every Friday, Saturday and bank holidays, all rooms are affected by noise.
